South Shore Hockey Club Ltd – Player Code of Conduct

As a member of the South Shore Hockey Club  LTD b(SSHC), all players are expected to uphold the values of respect, commitment, and sportsmanship. By joining SSHC, each player agrees to the following Code of Conduct:

1. Commitment and Availability

• I understand that participation in team practices, games, and events is critical to team development and success.
• I agree to be available for a minimum of 75% of all scheduled practices, games, and team events throughout the season.
• I will communicate with my coaches as early as possible if I am unable to attend a scheduled activity.
• Excessive unexcused absences may impact playing time or team placement.

2. Sportsmanship and Respect

• I will show respect at all times to coaches, teammates, opponents, referees, and spectators.
• I will accept the decisions of officials without argument and maintain composure during competition.
• I will avoid any behavior that could bring disrepute to the club, including taunting, fighting, or inappropriate language.

3. Team Conduct

• I will arrive on time and prepared for practices and games.
• I will support and encourage my teammates on and off the ice.
• I will maintain a positive attitude and a team-first mindset.
• I will wear the team uniform with pride and represent SSHC with integrity.

4. Training and Discipline

• I will give my best effort in every practice and game.
• I understand that constructive feedback from coaches is meant to help me improve.
• I will follow instructions from coaching staff and show a willingness to learn and grow.

5. Social Media and Public Behavior

• I will use social media responsibly and will not post content that could reflect poorly on SSHC or its members.
• I will behave responsibly in public and remember that I represent SSHC at all times.

Acknowledgment

I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to abide by the South Shore Hockey Club Player Code of Conduct. I understand that failure to meet these expectations may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or removal from the team.

 

 

South Shore Hockey Club LTD – Parent Code of Conduct

As a parent or guardian of a South Shore Hockey Club LTD (SSHC) player, your role is vital in fostering a healthy, respectful, and committed environment. By registering your child with SSHC, you agree to the following Code of Conduct:

1. Support for Commitment and Availability

• I understand that hockey is a team sport, and consistent participation is essential to the team's success.
• I will make every reasonable effort to ensure my child is available for at least 75% of scheduled practices, games, and team events.
• I will communicate promptly with coaches if our family schedule impacts availability.
• I recognize that unexcused absences may affect my child's playing time or team placement.

2. Respect and Sportsmanship

• I will model respectful behavior toward all players, coaches, officials, and other spectators.
• I will refrain from coaching or criticizing players (including my own child) from the sidelines.
• I will respect the decisions of the officials and coaches, understanding that they act in the best interest of the team.

3. Positive Support

• I will encourage my child to work hard, have fun, and be a respectful team player.
• I will support my child through both wins and losses, emphasizing effort and character over outcome.
• I will promote the values of discipline, teamwork, and integrity.

4. Communication and Conduct

• I will use appropriate channels to raise questions or concerns—starting with my child's coach and escalating through club leadership if needed.
• I will wait 24 hours before discussing any game-related concerns with a coach (“24-hour rule”) to allow for thoughtful and respectful communication.
• I will not engage in gossip, sideline disputes, or disruptive behavior that undermines the team environment.

5. Social Media and Public Representation

• I will not post negative or inflammatory comments about players, coaches, officials, or the SSHC community online.
• I understand that my conduct, both in person and online, reflects on the SSHC and its reputation.

6. Media Release and Use of Player Images

• I grant permission to the South Shore Hockey Club to use my child’s image, name, and likeness in photographs or video recordings taken during practices, games, and team events for use on SSHC’s website, social media accounts, printed materials, and promotional content.
• I understand that these materials may be used without compensation and are the property of SSHC.

Acknowledgment

I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to abide by the South Shore Hockey Club Parent Code of Conduct. I also authorize the use of my child’s image in SSHC-related media and promotional content. I understand that failure to meet these expectations may result in being asked to leave events, restricted access, or further action by the club.
